Greetings sports fanatics! Today the MA Lions hosted the Bangor Slaters. The Slaters started off on a strong note, scoring 3 runs in the 1st courtesy of two errors and an RBI double by Cody Quagliato. The Slaters added another run in the 2nd inning to make it 4-0. However, the Lions cut the lead to 1 with 3 runs off Quagliato. In the top of the 3rd, Greg Campbell got a run back for the Slaters with an RBI single to make it 5-3. Campbell would also replace Quagliato on the mound and started off strong with a 1-2-3 bottom 3rd with included 2 strikeouts. Banger scored on a wild pitch to increase their lead to 3 in the 4th. However, an error in the bottom half got the Lions back to 2, 6-4. Campbell provided a much needed breakthrough for the Slaters with another RBI single in the top of the 6th. The Slaters would added 3 more runs in the final inning to end the game at 10-4! In addiction to the 2 RBIs, Campbell earned the win by allowing one run, unearned, over 5 innings while striking out 7. Campbell stated that throwing strikes helped him settle in during a rare relief appearance.
