Bangor wins Colonial League Championship

Greetings sports fanatics! Today the Bangor Slaters hosted the SV Panthers at DeSales University. The Panthers struck first in the 1st inning when Cole Hubert delievered an RBI groundout off Hunter Rydell. Bangor tied the game in the bottom of the 2nd on a RBI single by Braiden Pysher. The Slaters then took the lead in the 3rd on another RBI single, this time by Cody Quagliato. The Slaters continued their onslaught in the 4th, when Rydell contributed with an RBI triple and scored on a single by Duncan Keith. The Slaters started to pull away in the 5th by scoring 3 runs to make it 7-1! The Panthers started to claw back into the game with a SF from Liam Buck and RBI single by Jacob Klotz. Two wild pitches in the final frame brought the Panthers within 2 7-5. However, the Slaters first baseman make a fantastic grab to seal the victory for the Slaters! Rydell earned the win, allowing only 2 earned runs in 6.1 innings and striking out 7. Rydell was speechless after the game, as the Slaters endured a huge turnaround from 9-11 last season to being Colonial League Champs this year!!
