Greetings sports fanatics! Today the Freedom Patriots played host to the Dallas Mountaineers. The 1st quater was all about the offense, as both teams scored 22 points in the period. The Pats defense started to step up in the 2nd quater, as they held Dallas to 10 points en route to a 39-32 halftime lead. The Pats extended the lead to 10 midway through the 3rd quater, but the Mounties began to rally and cut the deficit to 5, 49-44. The Moutaineers took the lead 56-54 with 2 mintues left to play. The Pats tried to force a turnover by knocking the ball away from Dallas star Nick Williams, but he recovered to make a layup to make it a 4 point game. The Mountaineers held on from there in a 66-59 victory! Williams, who finished with 21 points, stated it is always nice to beat a non confrence team in a higher division.
