Emmaus advances to states, Becca and Executive win titles

Greetings sports fanatics! Today Easton Middle School hosted a District 11 tripleheader. The Emmaus Green Hornets held off a late Stroudsburg rally to take game one 56-48. Teagen McCourt provided the knockout punch with an and-1 to put the Hornets up 7 with 2 mintues left. The Hornets will play Red Land on March 9. The Becca Golden Hawks had no trouble with the Whitehall Zephyrs, winning the 5A crown with a 53-24 whiplashing! The Hawks were led by Arnold Alleyne, who is in his 1st year as head coach after replacing Jose Medina. The Golden Hawks will host the Gwynedd Mercy Monarchs on next Saturday. In the final game, the Executive Raptors held off the ND Crusaders in a feisty affair that including a fan and bench player being ejected. Elias Lopez scored 6 of his 11 points in the Raptors 58-45 victory. The Raptors's opponent has not been determined yet. All three individuals are ecstatic about the victories but are now focused on preparing for states.
