Greetings sports fanatics! Today the Freedom Patriots had their home opener against the Emmaus Green Hornets. Emmaus started the scoring in the first quarter when Jacob Fotta hit Dylan Darville for a 60 yard touchdown. On the first play on the second half, Ethan Neidig hit Connor Stofanek on a 7 yard pass in the end zone, but Emmaus blocked the extra point to make it 7-6. Freedom would take their first and only lead of the game when Jalen Fletcher ripped a 61 yard run to make it 13-7. With 6 seconds left before halftime, Fotta ran the ball in for a 1 yard score, but Freedom blocked the kick to make it 13 all. The game would remain at 13 all throughout the 3rd quarter. With less than 8 minutes remaining, Josiah Williams scored on a 1 yard keeper to give the Hornets the lead for good 19-13! Williams stated after the game the victory was a confidence booster considering the tough schedule ahead!
