Jake Asbury’s strong day leads Marauders past Stateliners

Greetings sports fanatics! Today the Pburg Stateliners hosted the Mount Olive Marauders. It looked like it was going to be Mount Olive's game, as the Marauders piled 8 runs in the first 2 innings. Jake Asbury kept the Stateliners offense at bay, allowing only 3 runs through 5 innings. The Pburg's offense would wake up in the 6th, as they torched Mount Olive's bullpen for 6 runs. With the Stateliners cutting the deficit to 2 11-9 and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Marauders had Asbury return to the mound. Even though Asbury was replaced to start the inning, he was eligible to return due to him remaining in the game 3rd base. Asbury shut down the rally, and the Marauders added two insurance runs in the 7th inning to makes the final 13-9! Asbury, who also went 3-5 with 3 RBIs, stated " everyone on the team had each other's backs."
