Lafayette Colgate

Greetings sports fanatics! Today the Lafayette Leopards played host to the Colgate Red Raiders. The Leopards jumped out to an early 10-0 lead in the 1st quater due to a field goal and 39 yard pass from Dean DeNobile to Carson Persing. DeNobile added another passing touchdown in the 2nd quarter, this time to Chris Carasia from 19 yards, to give the Leopards a 17-0 lead at halftime. However, the Red Raiders fired right out of the gate to start the 3rd quarter, scoring 21 unanswered points to take their first lead of the game. The Leopards answered right back with a 4 yard run by Troy Bruce to put Lafayette back on top 24-21. Colgate scored 10 points in the 4th quater on a field goal and 4 yard scoring run by Chris Gee to give the Red Raiders the lead 31-24 with 4 mintues left. The Leopards would tie the game with 30 seconds left when DeNobile hit Elijah Stewart from 5 yards out to send the game to OT. Lafayette managed a field goal on their possession to give them an 34-31 advantage. On the second play of Colgate's possession, Jake Stearney found Brady Hutchinson for 13 yards to win it for the Red Raiders 37-34! Hutchinson stated after the game it was an amazing feeling to beat a ranked team on the road!
