Greetings sports fanatics! Today the Liberty Hurricanes hosted the William Allen Canaries. Both teams were sloppy in the 1st quarter and Liberty led by only 3, 10-7. The Hurricanes would gain some momentum in the 2nd quarter, increasing their lead to 26-17 at half. The Canaries would not go away, cutting the Hurricanes lead to 37-32 after 3 quarters. The Canaries had a golden opportunity to steal the game down 4 with 2:30 left to play. However, Blake Hargrove hit a tough layup to draw the and-1, which he converted, to extend the Hurricanes lead to 47-40. That put the game away for Liberty, which held on for a 52-47 victory! Hargrove stated after the game that was the biggest shot of his career!
