Moravian wins home opener




Greetings sports fanatics! Today the Moravian Greyhounds hosted the Gettysburg Bullets today. The Greyhounds dominated the first half of the game, scoring on all but one of their possessions in the first 2 quarters! Jared Jenkins threw for 4 touchdowns in the 1st half, including 2 to Brad Bryan. The only scoreless possession came in the red zone when Jenkins fumbled the ball and Chris Lessel returned it 93 yards for the Bullets only score of the half. Jenkins would redeem himself by scoring on a 9 yard keeper with 9 seconds left toward half to make it 34-7. In the second half, the Bullets would cut the lead to 16 with a touchdown in the 3rd and 4 quarters with Moravian trying to run the clock out. The Greyhounds would add a field goal between the two Bullets score to make it 37-21 with six minutes left in the game. Nick Boyle would put the finishing touches on the victory with a 3 yard run to make it 43-21. The Bullets would score with 4 seconds left in the game when Rocco Abdinoor hit Jake Frisco for a 4 yard TD to make the final 43-28! Jenkins stated after the game it was important to get off to a hot start in the game to avoid playing catch-up in the second half.
