Greeting Sports Fanatics! Yesterday I covered the EPC Quarterfinals matchup between the Bethlehem Catholic Golden Hawks and the Nazareth Blue Eagles. Becca got off to a hot start, leading 16-7 after the first quarter. Nazareth would cut the lead to 6 entering half time. After both teams traded buckets in the first minute of the 3rd quarter, it was all the Blue Eagles from there. With the score tied at 45 and less that one minute remaining, Joseph Adamas hit a three pointer to put the Eagles up for good. Nazareth would outscore Becca 28-19 in the final quarter to make the final score 76-64 in favor of the Blue Eagles. The victory not only advanced Nazareth to the semifinals, it also gave them a chance to play a game at the PPL Center, Home of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Adamas said that after falling short to Parkland in the District 11 quarterfinals last season, him and his teammates promised their fans and families that they would make it up this season. The Blue Eagles will play the Poncono Mountain West Panthers, a team that they bet 57-51 earlier in the season. Best of wishes to the Eagles and Adamas for the rest of the season!!
