Greetings sports fanatics! Today the Parkland Trojans played host to the St Joe Prep Hawks. The Hawks got the scoring started just a mintue and a half when Erik Sanchez broke off a 42 yard scoring run. After a Trojans field goal, Samaj Jones kept the ball himself to increase the Hawks lead to 14-3. After another Parkland field goal, Khaseem Phillips punched it in from 8 yards out to make it 21-6. Jones would hit Isaiah West for a 23 yard TD to make it 28-6 Hawks. With four and a half remaining in the half. Jones hit David Washington to increase the lead to 35-6. Jones would score on an incredible 45 yard run to make it 42-6. The Hawks would block a Trojans punt, then Sanchez punched it in two plays later to send the Hawks up 49-6 at half. Nakhi Bullock returned the second half kickoff 95 yards and the Trojans converted the 2 point conversion in an attempt to kickstart a Parkland rally. After a Hawks field goal, Luke Spang hit Jack Harrison for a 26 yard pass to cut the deficit to 52-21. The Hawks however wouldn't give Parkland another chance as they ran the remaining clock out. St Joes defense was led by Josiah Trotter, who is the son of former NFL player Jeremiah Trotter. Josiah had 7 tackles and 1.5 sacks! Trotter stated after the game that the whole team came to play despite the challenge the Trojans brought.
