Quakertown Jersey DH

Greetings sports fanatics! Today the Blazers played host to the Jersey Pilots in a DH. In game 1, the Blazers got the scoring started in the bottom of the 1st when Riley Davis of Lehigh hit a double to drive in Sean Szestowicki of West Chester to make it 1-0. The Pilots would tied it up in the top of the 2nd when Anthony Matteis hit a single to drive in Nate Miller of Post. The Blazers would take the lead for good in the bottom of the 4th when Davis hit a single to drive in Jackson Shollenberger of Charleston Southern and Eric Shandler of UMBC. Owen Petrich of Delaware would hit a SF to score Szestowicki and make it 4-1 Blazers. The Blazers scored 7 runs in the bottom of the 6th to give them a mercy rule victory 11-1! Dominic Proietto of Kutztown earned the win, going the distance allowing only 1 run while striking out 7.


In game 2, the Pilots started the scoring off in the top of the 1st when Matteis hit another single to score Aries Samek of Clemson. The Blazers would tie it up in the bottom of the 3rd when Petrich scored Szestowicki with a double. The Blazers would take the lead in the bottom of the 4th thanks to a Davis RBI single that brought home Lucas Floyd of Alvernia. The Pilots forced another tie in the top of the 5th when Vinny DiNicola of Siena hit a triple to score Samek. The Blazets took the lead for good in the bottom of the 5th when Conlan Wall of St Joes hit a double to score Zack Kovalchik of Sacred Heart. Floyd would put the game out of reach with a 3 run HR that scored Wall and Andrew Nole of Lehigh. Petrich hit a double to score Szestowick to make the lead 7-2 in favor of the Blazers. Cole Hertzler capped the scoring with a single to score Davis and Petrich to make the final 9-2! Floyd stated after the game it was a great feeling to hit his first HR in a important part of the game!
