Greetings sports fanatics! Today I covered the Colonial League Championship game between the Southern Lehigh Spartans and the Notre Dame Crusaders! Notre Dame got the scoring started by plating a run in the top of the 2nd. Southern Lehigh tied the game with a run in the bottom of the 2nd. ND retook the lead with a run in the top of the 3rd. Southern Lehigh responded with 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd thanks to a SF by Landon Bealer and a RBI single by Will Woodrig. The Crusaders took the lead for a third time by scoring 3 runs on two errors to take a 5-3 lead. Bealer would respond with with a game tying 2 RBI triple in the bottom in the 5th. The Spartans would commit two more errors in the top of the sixth that would lead to 4 Crusaders runs. After a walk to load the bases, Will Woodring would bring two runs in to cut the deficit to 9-8. Luke Lea came up with two outs and runners on second and third in the biggest at bat of his career. He delivered with a 2 RBI single to put the Spartans up for good 10-9! ND went down in the top of the 7th to end the game and give SL the champions! Lea stated that he was waiting for a fastball to hit that the hit meant a lot to him!
