Greetings sports fanatics! It's time to honor four standout players from this weekend's playoffs. This list will include both high school and colligate athletics from the Lehigh Valley. Here we go!
Leo O'Boyle, Lafayette
When his team needed him the most, Leo O'Boyle came through! With the Lafayette Leopards down by 3, 66-63, with 4:8 seconds left in overtime, O'Boyle hit a 3 point shot to send the game into a 2nd OT. He would complete a 4 point play with 2:35 remaining to lead the Leopards to the Patriot League championship game in a 84-76 victory over the American Eagles! Those two clutch shots were part of a 23 point performance. O'Boyle would also score his 1000 point after hitting a 3 point shot in the 1st half.
2. Megan Bealer, DeSales
In the 1st round of the NCAA, D3 tournament held at DeSales, the 8th ranked DeSales Bulldogs had little trouble defeating the Mitchell Mariners 78-60. Meagan Bealer was a big part of the Bulldogs victory, scoring a career high 27 points with 7 assists. The victory kept the Bulldogs undefeated at home and improved their all time NCAA tournament record to 9-15.
