Greetings sports fanatics! Today the Liberty Hurricanes hosted the Upper Darby Royals. Both offenses got off to slow starts as the the Royals led 12-11 after the 1st quarter. In the 2nd, it was all about the Royals defense and they held Liberty to only 3 points and UD led 29-14 at half. Both teams were equal in the 3rd quarter as the Royals led 44-31. In the 4th, the Hurricanes offense woke up and outscored the Royals 25-12 to send the game into overtime tied at 56. Both teams could only score 2 points each and the game would head to a 2nd OT. With the game tied at 64 with 2.3 seconds left, it look like the game would head to a 3rd OT after Liberty got a rebound off a UD miss. However, Yassir Joyner stole the ball and hit a layup as time expired to give the Royals a thrilling 66-64 victory!! Joyner stated after the game there was no better feeling than making the game winning shot!
