Greetings sports fanatics! Tonight the Quakertown Blazers played host to the Ocean Ospreys. The Blazers came out flat from the start, making uncharacteristic errors which allowed to Ospreys to score 4 runs in the first 3 innings. The Blazers would tie the game up by the 7th inning. However, the Ospreys would score 3 runs and withstand a Blazers rally in the bottom of the 7th. The Ospreys would add 3 insurance runs in the top of the 9th to cap a 10-6 victory. Both teams combined for 15 errors. One bright spot for the Ospreys was their starting pitcher Joseph Voli, who battled through 6 innings while throwing 121 pitches, allowed 3 earned runs and struck out 5 batters. His biggest highlight came on the field, when a shortage of players forced him to play right field. In the bottom of the 8th inning, Riley Davis of Lehigh hit a long drive to right that could have ended up being a double. Joe initially lost track of the ball, but recovered to make a miraculous diving catch. Joe stated after the game it was a huge victory considering they split a DH with the Trenton Generals the night prior.
